General Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
  • Authors must ensure that their submissions comply with the ethical standards and publication policies of AMHR.
  • The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript.
  • All manuscripts must be written in English, using clear and precise scientific language.

Manuscript Preparation

AMHR requires that manuscripts are prepared in a clear, standardized format to ensure consistency and high-quality presentation. Authors should carefully follow the guidelines below before submission.

A. File Format and Structure

  • Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Page Layout: A4 size, 1-inch margins, double spacing, left-aligned.
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12.

B. Manuscript Sections

1. Title Page

  • Title of the article (concise and informative).
  • Full names, degrees, and affiliations of all authors.
  • Corresponding author's details: name, email address, phone number, and ORCID ID (if available).
  • Word count and number of tables/figures.

2. Abstract

  • Structured (original research): Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion (250–300 words).
  • Unstructured: for case reports and review articles (≤200 words).

3. Keywords

  • Provide 3–6 relevant keywords (preferably MeSH terms).

4. Main Text

  • Introduction: Background, rationale, and study objectives.
  • Methods: Study design, setting, participants, materials, procedures, statistical analysis.
  • Results: Major findings supported with tables/figures.
  • Discussion: Interpretation, implications, limitations, comparison with existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summary of findings and key takeaways.

Recommended Word Limits (excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, supplementary material):

  • Original Research Articles: 3,500–6,000 words
  • Systematic/Narrative Reviews: 5,000–8,000 words
  • Case Reports: 1,500–2,000 words
  • Short Communications/Brief Reports: 1,000–1,500 words
  • Editorials/Commentaries: 800–1,200 words

5. Acknowledgements

  • Credit contributors who do not meet authorship criteria; funding support, institutional backing.

6. Conflict of Interest Declaration

  • Clearly state any financial or non-financial conflicts.

7. Funding Disclosure

  • Mention all sources of financial or grant support received.

8. Author Contributions

  • Use CRediT taxonomy (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Writing – Original Draft, Supervision).

9. Ethical Approval Statement

  • Include ethics committee name, approval number, and confirmation of informed consent (human/animal research).

10. References

  • Follow Vancouver style.
  • References must be cited numerically in-text (superscript) and listed sequentially at the end.

Recommended Reference Limits:

  • Original Research: 30–50 references
  • Systematic Reviews: 50+ references (as needed)
  • Case Reports: ≤20 references
  • Short Communications: ≤15 references
  • Editorials/Commentaries: ≤10 references

C. Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Files

  • All tables and figures must be cited sequentially in the text.
  • Figures: High resolution (minimum 300 dpi), accepted formats .JPG or .TIFF.
  • Tables: Create using MS Word's table function (do not submit tables as images).
  • Supplementary Material: Extended datasets, appendices, protocols, or multimedia may be submitted as separate files.

D. Referencing Style

  • AMHR follows Vancouver style.
  • In-text citation: superscript numbers (e.g., "...as previously reported.¹").
  • Reference list: numbered in order of appearance; journal titles abbreviated per PubMed/MEDLINE.
  • Example:Smith J, Doe A. Understanding cardiovascular risk in young adults. J Clin Med. 2022;15(4):112–118.

E. Ethical Considerations

  • Human studies: must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and include informed consent.
  • Animal studies: must follow institutional/national guidelines for care and use of laboratory animals.
  • Approval Details: Provide ethics approval number and date in the Methods section.

F. Plagiarism and Misconduct

  • All manuscripts will undergo plagiarism detection using professional software.
  • AMHR has zero tolerance for plagiarism, duplicate publication, falsified data, and unethical authorship practices.
  • Suspected misconduct may lead to rejection, retraction, and notification of relevant institutions.

G. Authorship and Contribution

  • AMHR follows ICMJE authorship guidelines: only individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions should be listed as authors.
  • All contributors must agree to be listed and approve the final manuscript.
  • Use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) must be declared in the Acknowledgments and not credited as authors.

H. Language and Editing Support

  • Authors are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited for language and grammar prior to submission.
  • AMHR offers optional manuscript editing and graphical illustration services on request (additional charges may apply).
  • use of AI generated images, text will be considered as misconduct of research

I. Submission and Communication

  • Manuscripts should be submitted via the AMHR online submission portal.
  • The corresponding author will receive updates: acknowledgment, reviewer feedback, editorial decisions, and instructions for revisions and proofs.

Required Files for Submission

When submitting to Advances in Multidisciplinary Health Research (AMHR), authors must upload the following mandatory files:

  1. Manuscript File: Contains abstract, keywords, main text, references. Must follow AMHR formatting guidelines.
  2. Title Page: Article title, full author names, degrees, affiliations, corresponding author’s details (name, email, phone, ORCID ID), word count and number of tables/figures.
  3. Figures and Tables: Embedded in manuscript and/or uploaded separately in high resolution (≥300 dpi, JPG/TIFF). Tables should be editable.
  4. Ethics Approval Letter (if applicable): For studies involving human or animal subjects.
  5. Conflict of Interest & Author Contribution Statement: Declaration of conflicts of interest and CRediT authorship contribution details.
  6. Cover Letter: As per AMHR Cover Letter Guidelines.

Optional Files: Supplementary Material (datasets, appendices, videos, protocols, questionnaires), Graphical Abstract or Visual Summary.

Cover Letter Guidelines

A cover letter is required for all submissions to AMHR. It should be concise (1–2 pages) and highlight the importance and originality of the work.

Essential Elements

  • Manuscript Details: Title of the manuscript, Article type (Original Research, Review, Case Report, etc.)
  • Statement of Originality: Confirm the work is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Significance of the Work: Describe novelty, contribution, and relevance to health sciences.
  • Ethical Compliance: Confirm adherence to ethical standards (Declaration of Helsinki, animal ethics approval, informed consent).
  • Conflict of Interest & Funding: Declare conflicts of interest and list funding sources, if applicable.
  • Suggested Reviewers (Optional): Recommend 2–3 potential reviewers (with affiliation and email) or indicate exclusions.
  • Corresponding Author Information: Full name, affiliation, email, phone, ORCID ID.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Advances in Multidisciplinary Health Research (AMHR) is an open-access journal committed to fostering high-quality, accessible research across all domains of health sciences. To support open-access dissemination, a nominal Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable upon acceptance of a manuscript. This fee covers editorial handling, peer review, online hosting, DOI assignment, and archiving services.

APC Scholarship Support

To encourage emerging researchers and promote inclusive publishing, AMHR offers full APC waivers to students and early-career researchers listed as the first or corresponding author. Applicants must provide valid documentation, such as a student ID or institutional confirmation.

Introductory Issue Discount

To celebrate the launch of AMHR and encourage quality submissions, a 100% APC waiver will be applied to all authors for articles accepted in the first issue(s) of the journal. Additionally, there are no submission charges or hidden fees.

Peer Review Policy – Process Overview

The peer review process ensures the scientific integrity, quality, and originality of manuscripts submitted to Advances in Multidisciplinary Health Research (AMHR). All submissions undergo a transparent, unbiased, and confidential review process.

1. Initial Submission

  • Checked for completeness, formatting, originality, ethics.
  • Initial assessment by Editor-in-Chief/Associate Editor.
  • Possible desk rejection if outside scope.

2. Peer Review Assignment

1. Purpose of the Budding Researcher

Designed to encourage undergraduate (UG) students to participate in scientific writing and scholarly communication. This section supports early-stage researchers by providing a platform to publish structured, evidence-informed, and educational scientific work under moderated review standards.

Submissions should demonstrate:

  • Conceptual clarity
  • Basic scientific reasoning
  • Ethical writing practices
  • Educational value

Note: Highly complex methodology and advanced statistical depth are not mandatory, but scientific accuracy is required.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to Undergraduate students (UG level) and Internship students.
  • A UG student must be the first author or corresponding author (Guides/Mentors cannot be the primary author).

6. Methodology Expectations

Moderate Burden Policy: Simple study designs and basic statistics (mean, %, charts, simple tests) are acceptable. Advanced modeling is not required. Clarity is preferred over complexity.

  • Clearly describe how data was obtained.
  • Declare if work is academic-project based.

7. Referencing Requirements

  • Vancouver style preferred.
  • Avoid Wikipedia/blog citations.
  • Review articles should include at least 40% references from the last 5 years.

8. Ethical Requirements

  • Work must be original (Plagiarism < 15%).
  • No ghostwriting; AI tools must be declared.
  • Consent required for case discussions/series.
  • IEC approval required for original research.

9. Figures, Tables, and Visuals

Maximum of 5 figures/tables allowed. Concept diagrams, flowcharts, and basic graphs are encouraged. Self-created visuals are preferred; adapted visuals must include source citations.

10. Language & Writing Standard

Clear academic English with correct scientific terminology. Moderate grammar errors are acceptable as long as logic and clarity are prioritized. The editorial team may provide language polishing support.

11. Mentor Support

UG authors are encouraged to consult a faculty mentor before submission. Mentors can be included as reviewers or co-authors if they contributed scientifically.
